Time Team just got hot

It's that time of year, the ball season has commenced and even the archaeologists get one! And so we present to you our Spring Ball essentials...

Bex...

My look was inspired by a photograph of Marilyn Monroe I had came across in a book. Monroe has always been a style icon of mine and I adore the modest sexiness of the early 60's. I'm huge fan of Estee Lauder make-up, finding it always stays in place and you can't go wrong with a hint of Chanel No.5 darling.
I love any excuse to dress up and the archaeology ball was the perfect opportunity...I got to have my very own Marilyn moment!

I'm a LBD and red lips kind of girl, you may even say I'm obsessed. But what's wrong with a classic look that you know isn't going to date? I try my best not to create those outfits that I'll look back on and think 'Oh good lord Kathy, why did anyone let you go out like that?!' (Sadly, it has been done). I'm a complete make up snob, I'll admit it. I only want the best and I'm prepared to pay pretty stupid prices for it (Hence the reason I'm a poor, poor student). My ball recommendation is Mac Fix+ spray (£13 a Mac counters), applying after the application of make up or as a refreshment throughout the even will leave your face intact and looking all glowing and healthy!

I'm talking 'bout a whole lotta history...

This Easter I was lucky enough to visit Egypt for a couple of weeks. A cruise on the Nile followed by a few days in Cairo and Luxor was truly inspirational as well as eye-opening. Being a major history geek (Sorry, I can't help it) I thoroughly enjoyed my two week long lesson on the ancient world. Even if you're not interested in history and just want a tan this is the place for you, it was a sweet 35 degrees in March/April....

All photos taken by me apart from the one with me in (that was taken by my Dad...).

A little bit about us...

" I adore the effortless style of LA fashionistas mixed with the eclectic beauty of London's homegrown. As much as I enjoy watching the trends come and go on the catwalks each season I prefer a more classic style with Zara and vintage making up the majority of my wardrobe. I love NYC, Elle magazine (I'm hoping one day if I badger them enough they'll employ me), fresh flowers & red lipstick (MAC 'So Chaud' is my springtime staple!)."

"I have always been a little messy with fashion, trying wacky new trends and looking a little ridiculous but for me fashion is all about having fun! I’m a shameless impulse buyer owning collections of hats, shoes and handbags I will wear once with pride and forgot about till my next spring clean. I love Paris, photography and anything from 1962 (I was born in the wrong era!)."
